Degrading Behavior

I remember when I was still a kid and in school I am afraid of my teacher.  I am afraid to commit mistakes because of the punishment.  We look up out teacher, elders our parents with so much respect.  Though there are kids before who are not that respectful but seldom.  I can say that before kids have lots of manners and values because not much influences around us.  My life back then is home and school.  I learned to be responsible person in my early age.  I can proudly say that my parents teach us with good values and manners.  Though I did not enjoy my younger age that much, I do not have any regrets at all because it made me who I am now today.

In my observation of today’s younger age, there is a big difference.  As I look around, kids of today are not so respectful.  Yes it is also a parent’s factor but I have observed that no matter how much the parents teach them good values and manners, it seems like too difficult to do it.  It is because of lots of influences around them.  Media and new technology bring kids down to a degrading behavior.  Their innocent minds are brainwash by what they have seen on television, computers and friends.  So sad to see that they have lost the values and manners their parents thought them.  As elder we can do something about it.  It should start now and from us.  Let us raise a child with good behavior.  Something that we can be proud of when they grow older.

Awesome post Genny! I totally agree with you.

Back in the day when I was a kid, all my parents had to do was give us “the look” and we just knew that we had to behave. We grew up when respect was expected from children and they didn’t have to give us “the look” very often.

    Have a great week . . . Gina
